Cottage Living

These last few weeks have been spent slowly getting settled into my cottage and making it my own space. It's a super cute little place with a redwood tree and a madrone tree and a fig tree in the front yard. I also have a garden and spent a good portion of Saturday staring at all the plants and asking them "what are you?" I love the fact that I live in a cottage - it makes me feel very single and fancy. I also have a washer and dryer INSIDE THE HOUSE!!! For the first time in my adult life I don't have to leave my living space to do laundry. Like I said - Fancy!

I had a small taste of PNW rain a few weeks ago. After weeks of hot, hot summer, I woke up to cold, cold rain. In true city gal fashion, I rallied against the elements by riding my bike to the office in a mini skirt, heels, tights and my leather jacket. I was wet and frozen by the end of the ride, but at least my pride was still intact. I know I'll have to buy some sort of rain gear if I want to continue riding my bike during the next few months... and I'll also have to get over the fact that most rain gear is very ugly. Ah... a new transition to look forward to. Work is taking me to NYC next weekend - I'm hoping to hit up some hipster bike shops and see what kind of 4-season women's bike pants they carry. If anyone has any suggestions - please send them my way!

Team Laser Cats! (Thanks for the photo, Coach!)

In other news, Chandra and I ran the Eugene Women's 1/2 marathon over Labor Day weekend! Team Laser Cats Rocked it! Afterwards, we went wine tasting with our friends Chris and M who also ran the race with Chris' mom who was visiting from SoCal.

I've been making more of an effort lately to go out and meet people in Eugene. You never know who you'll meet out here. I met a slug queen, got to talk with a famous singer, and also drove an electric car. This guy also came by the office to say hi last week.
